Artistic, cultural and educational exchange between Belgium and Tanzania

Summary

Academic institutions are increasingly collaborating to achieve shared goals. The University of Dar es Salaam and The Royal Institute for Theatre, Cinema and Sound have previously benefitted from a partnership with a staff member from RITCS, resulting in a productive exchange of knowledge. Building on this, both institutions aim to extend the relationship by involving more staff and students, as well as the Tanzanian and Belgian communities. Each institution will host the other, conducting performances, rehearsals, and seminars on topics related to African and European cultures and performance traditions. We deepen mutual understanding and create a more substantial partnership, enhancing education through shared learning. This first phase will focus on cultural performances, workshops, and research.The project includes two pre-doctoral fellowships for UDSM candidates at RITCS and two visiting lecturers program from Belgium to Tanzania to support research and teaching activities.
