Summary
This project drives a community-led transformation of Bolivia’s child protection system. Through co-creation sessions it engages biological families, care leavers and adoptees as experts, ensuring their lived experiences shape reforms. By merging community expertise with decades of research, it establishes PACTO—a community initiative for Prioritising Accountability, Child Well-Being, and Transparent Decision-Making in Observance of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). A digital PACTO platform will serve as an open-access hub, compelling testimonies, research, and policy tools to empower communities and ensure lasting impact. PACTO-training sessions in La Paz, Cochabamba and Sucre will equip professionals and students with rights-based approaches to family reintegration. By embedding PACTO into university curricula, institutional partnerships, and policy dialogues, the project ensures long-term uptake, fostering ethical, transparent, and community-driven child protection practices.
