Summary

The project focuses on evaluating Nature Based Solutions (NBS) for (ground)water recharge and sustainable water management in the Rocha River Basin (RRB), strengthening the strategic lines of the RRB Master Plan. It strengthens universities research capacity and educational capacities by developing sustainable NBS focus modules, webinar series, and stakeholder engagement strategies. Through participatory approaches, the SI co-creates knowledge with national, regional, and local actors, ensuring societal impact and inclusivity. Scientific societies foster youth engagement, supporting innovation and capacity building. Technical assessments, led by research centers, guide evidence-based decision-making for catchment management. The holistic approach prioritises gender equity, innovation and resilience to improve water management under climate stress.
