Summary

Astronomy can be a powerful tool for development. Having established strong scientific collaboration and education through a previous VLIRUOS-funded project, with our new STELLAR project, we will expand our results to benefit a more significant portion of the population. We will leverage the Moroccan Oukaimeden Observatory (Science, Technology, Astronomy) as a hub (Leadership) for education and development. We will provide educational opportunities for earthquake-affected communities (Resilience), integrate infrastructure (Technology) to benefit African researchers and educators (Education, Learning), and enhance Pro-Am collaborations for a broader societal impact. Additionally, we seek to empower girls from rural areas through access to quality education, role models, and STEM activities. By expanding our efforts into sustainable and inclusive learning programs, the observatory evolves into a center of excellence, bridging science, education, and community resilience across Africa.
